This subpage documents removed, unused and changed items and weapons during the development of Grand Theft Auto Advance.

The following information is obtained from ROM leftovers and Digital Eclipse's GTA Advance: Game Design Document (Version 1.3, 26th February 2003).

Removed Items/Weapons[]

Oil Slick[]

Main article: Oil Slick

Returning from Grand Theft Auto 2, this item was intended as a vehicle mounted weapon used to release oil onto the road, causing any following vehicles to lose control when they drive over the oil slick, obtained from GTA 2-style "drive through shops" and Phil's Army Surplus. [1][2] It is internally named OIL SLICK in the game files (observed via hex editing).

The weapon can be obtained and selected through cheat devices, although it has no functionality in-game.

Vehicle Machine Gun[]

Returning from Grand Theft Auto 2, this item was intended as a vehicle mounted weapon used to shoot while driving vehicles. There are no leftovers of this weapon in the game.[3]

Land Mine[]

Main article: Land Mine

The Land Mine originally intended for Grand Theft Auto III is once again cut from the game. In this title, the Land Mine was a vehicle weapon, originally intended for the "Tank War" multiplayer mode, meant to be dropped while controlling a Tank. The item was removed along with the game's multiplayer feature.[4] There are no leftovers of the weapon in the game files.
