Berkley is a minor character in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.
History[]
Background[]
Berkley is a rival of San Fierro-based electronics expert Zero. The two each own rival hobby shops (Berkleys RC and Zero RC). Berkley's rivalry with Zero initially stems from a past experience, when Zero won first prize at a science fair ahead of him. The location of Berkley's shop is unknown.
Events of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas[]
In 1992, Berkley and Zero begin a war with each other using remote-controlled vehicles. Berkley, having just returned to San Fierro, launches "a full scale attack" on Zero's shop and transmitters. Berkley's delivery men and vehicles are then targeted by Carl Johnson, and subsequently defeated in a remote-controlled army battle. After losing the battle, as a consequence of the rivals' challenge, Berkley is told to pack up his business and leave San Fierro.
The whereabouts of Berkley are unknown, although he decidedly continues his rivalry with Zero, despite his business operations being majorly weakened by Carl and Zero's actions. Later, Zero informs Berkley of the casino heist being planned by Carl Johnson, Wu Zi Mu and the San Fierro Triads at the Caligula's Casino in Las Venturas. Berkley subsequently alerts the authorities, who storm the casino just as Carl is escaping. During the escape, the authorities manage to restore the casino's lighting system, after Carl had previously shut it down to assist his infiltration. Regardless of the intervention, Berkley is ultimately unsuccessful in his attempts to sabotage the heist, as evidenced by Carl and his team managing to escape from the SWAT response units dispatched to the area. Carl and his team eventually arrive safely back at the Verdant Meadows airstrip with the money they stole from the casino heist. At the airstrip, Carl punches Zero in the face for informing Berkley about the heist. This is the last mention of Berkley.
