The weapon is the Mark II version of the [[AK-47|Assault Rifle]], and features several visual modifications compared to it. It has a custom pistol grip and railed handguard, a deeper magwell, different iron sights, an {{w|AKM}}'s front sight and ribbed receiver cover, as well as a collapsible stock similar to that of the {{w|AK-12#Design|2012 prototype of the AK-12}}.

The Assault Rifle Mk II has a better damage than the Assault Rifle (40 instead of 30) and the same rate of fire. While being a significant increase in firepower, it still does not deliver as much damage as other assault rifles and machineguns do. However, its high damage per shot makes it a good choice to use specialized ammo.
+
The Assault Rifle Mk II improves over the regular Assault Rifle in damage (from 30 to 40), with the same rate of fire. Despite its sluggish rate of fire, the Assault Rifle Mk II's damage per second manages to be slightly superior to the [[Carbine Rifle Mk II]]. Adding to that, its high damage per shot makes it a good choice to use specialized ammo.

When applying any specialized ammo, its magazine size will be reduced to 20 rounds.

With the heavy barrel applied, long-range damage falls to 50% of point blank damage (as for other Mk II weapons) instead of 30% for most weapons.

With the heavy barrel applied, long-range damage falls to 50% of point blank damage (as for other Mk II weapons) instead of 30% for most weapons.
  +
  +
The weapon has access to the following ammo types:
  +
  +
*Tracer rounds, which only have an aesthetic effect. A tracer round is shot every three bullets, with the last three being also tracer rounds. Overall capacity is 360 rounds (12 magazines).
  +
*Incendiary rounds, which have moderate chances of setting enemies on fire.
  +
*Armor Piercing rounds, which increase damage over armored targets. This helps at taking out armored enemies easily.
  +
*Full Metal Jacket rounds, which improve damage over vehicles and can penetrate bullet-resistant windows. This helps at taking out targets inside armored vehicles at medium ranges.
  +
  +
Note that specialized ammo magazines have a reduced capacity of 20 rounds, with an overall capacity of 240 rounds (12 magazines).

"The definitive revision of an all-time classic: all it takes is a little work, and looks can kill after all."
Weapon Workshop and Social Club description.

The Shrewsbury Assault Rifle Mk II is a weapon that appears in Grand Theft Auto Online as part of the Gunrunning update.

Design

Grand Theft Auto Online

The weapon is the Mark II version of the Assault Rifle, which features several visual modifications. It has different iron sights (the front sight is that of an AKM), a Magpul MOE pistol grip, a deeper magwell, an AKM's ribbed receiver cover, a handguard which appears to be inspired by both the B-10 and the 2016 version of the AK-12, and a collapsible stock which is a close copy of the ZenitCo PT-3 Klassika.

Performance

Grand Theft Auto Online

The Assault Rifle Mk II improves over the regular Assault Rifle in damage (from 30 to 40), with the same rate of fire. Despite its sluggish rate of fire, the Assault Rifle Mk II's damage per second manages to be slightly superior to the Carbine Rifle Mk II. Adding to that, its high damage per shot makes it a good choice to use specialized ammo.

With the heavy barrel applied, long-range damage falls to 50% of point blank damage (as for other Mk II weapons) instead of 30% for most weapons.

The weapon has access to the following ammo types:

  • Tracer rounds, which only have an aesthetic effect. A tracer round is shot every three bullets, with the last three being also tracer rounds. Overall capacity is 360 rounds (12 magazines).
  • Incendiary rounds, which have moderate chances of setting enemies on fire.
  • Armor Piercing rounds, which increase damage over armored targets. This helps at taking out armored enemies easily.
  • Full Metal Jacket rounds, which improve damage over vehicles and can penetrate bullet-resistant windows. This helps at taking out targets inside armored vehicles at medium ranges.

Note that specialized ammo magazines have a reduced capacity of 20 rounds, with an overall capacity of 240 rounds (12 magazines).

Trivia

Grand Theft Auto Online

  • Interestingly, the blueprints seen inside the Bunker shows what appears to be an underbarrel grenade launcher, with an appearance similar to the M203 grenade launcher. However, said attachment does not exist.
