Where men who "didn't do it" discover what they are prepared to do when deprived of female contact.
GTA IV Manual Description

The Alderney State Correctional Facility is a prison in the State of Alderney.

Description[]

Enclosed by the Acter Industrial Park and located on the banks of the West River, the Alderney State Correctional Facility is a medium-security level prison, as shown by the armed guards of the Alderney State Department of Corrections, barbed wire fences and guard towers.

Inmates can often be seen standing around, sweeping the prison grounds, and watering the grass. The prison features a recreation yard and a chapel is located in the southeastern section of the prison where a preacher is sometimes seen.

Niko Bellic will not receive any wanted level if he enters the prison unless he walks/runs into, kills or injures a guard or inmate (presumably because Gerald McReary put him on the visitors list). However, Johnny Klebitz and Luis Fernando Lopez will receive a three-star wanted level upon entering the facility. This will sound the prison's alarm and cause the guards to attack.

The facility is based on the New Jersey State Prison in Trenton, NJ, while also taking some design cues, specifically the prison walls, from the infamous East Jersey State Prison.

Trivia[]

  • When viewed from far away, the large fenced-in concrete recreational area inside the prison appears as a baseball field.
  • A Carbine Rifle can be found inside the prison.
  • In GTA V, during Maude's Bail Bond missions, if you capture Curtis Weaver instead of killing him, he will explain that he just got released or escaped from this prison, due to him and everyone turning against each other at a sit-in protest outside The Exchange in Liberty City.
  • During a cutscene in the visiting area, the prison officer shifts and some of the names seen in the background when said quickly can sound sexually explicit like, "Phil McRevice" ("fill my crevice"), "Seymour Fani" ("see more fanny"), "Isaac Hunt" ("I's a cunt"), and Richard Head ("Dick head"). Also, this guard shift sheet is titled "Liberty City Correctional Facility" instead of Alderney State Correctional Facility, indicating the prison had a different name in the beta.
  • If the player takes a cab from anywhere in Liberty City to the prison and skips the journey, they will find LCPD officers on guard instead of State Troopers. This is due to the system not yet registering the player's location due to the fast-travel.
  • The player cannot call 911 in the area, even outside the gate. Once called, regardless of the service chosen, the protagonist will say that he is in an unknown position such as in the middle of the ocean or at high altitude.
