The boat was first seen in two official screenshots for Grand Theft Auto VI, where they are being used for alligator hunting and fishing activities in the Leonida Grassrivers.
Influence[]
The Airboat 09 appears to be based on several models of fanboats from Diamondback Airboats, both in its design and similar naming scheme. The overall footprint most closely resembles their models used for recreational fishing and hunting, such as the Hunting & Fishing 6, 13, and 15. Other design elements, such as the metal footrest, propeller cage, seating arrangement, and front guardrail, may be influenced by other models such as the Work Boat 39, Work Boat 20, Pleasure 10, and Bow Fishing 8.
Design[]
The Airboat 09 has a utilitarian design, characterized by a large hull and multiple floor storage areas. It offers two distinct seating areas: an elevated single seat for the operator, and a double passenger seat located ahead of the operator's seat. Both seats are equipped with curved railings on the left side, and they are supported by an underlying structure, seamlessly integrated into a metal framework that anchors them into the hull. In front of the bench, a curved metal footrest is fitted, reinforced with welded support bars that connect to the framework.
The two boats seen in promotional screenshots also appear to have several different options for their design elements, such as the propeller cage, seat upholstery, and liveries. One propeller cage features signage showing the boat's name and manufacturer, as well as a larger, more rounded frame arranged in a tighter grid pattern compared to a typical fanboat. The other appears to be longer and come to an end near the driver's seating area, as well as having a looser grid pattern.
