Retired PS4 Version[]
This version featured 29 PlayStation trophies (28 + 1 platinum trophy, King of Liberty City). Of these:
- 27 were carried to the Definitive Edition in one form or another:
- 19 as gameplay achievements;
- 7 (Hunting Season, Repeat Offender, If You Ain't Cheatin', You Ain't Tryin' renamed Cheaters Do Prosper!, Blood in the Streets, Play Fetch, Pest Control, Like a Boss) as Social Club achievements;
- King of Liberty City was carried doubly: as the PS5 platinum trophy and as a Social Club achievement.
- 2 (Population Control and Where we're going, we don't need roads) were scrapped.
Definitive Edition[]
This version features as follows.
- 28 achievements/trophies (29 on PS5 only, with King of Liberty City being the platinum trophy). Of these:
- 19 are carried over from the PS4 version;
- 9 (Without a Scratch, Escape Artist, Mob Boss, Planned Ahead, Got This Figured Out, By a Mile, Come Out to Play-y-y-y, Liberty City Minute, Full Artillery) are new.
- 44 Social Club achievements. Of these:
- 28 overlap the gameplay achievements;
- 15 are Social Club-exclusive, with 8 being new (Got Any Stories, Old Man?, Talks a Lot, Instigator, Chasing Paper, Am Walkin' Here, Relief Pitcher, Fare Game, Recycler) and 7 being previous PS4 trophies (read above);
- King of Liberty City is unlocked by attaining all other 43 Social Club achievements in the same playthrough.

- The trophy "Where we're going, we don't need roads" is a reference to the same quote in the movie Back to the Future.
- The trophies "Street Sweeper" and "Pest Control" reference the Grand Theft Auto IV missions of the same name, while the trophy "Not So Fast" references the The Ballad of Gay Tony mission of the same name in The Ballad of Gay Tony.
