A.M. Beer is a brand of Japanese beer in the HD Universe of the Grand Theft Auto series.

Description[]

It appears to be a parody of Japanese beer brand Asahi. "Asahi" translates to "morning sun" or "rising sun", while "A.M." is a common abbreviation for the morning hours. The background used in the brand's label is similar to the Rising Sun Flag that originated from the Edo period of Japan. The flag was once displayed on older Asahi beer cans and bottles, but was subsequently discontinued due to its controversial historical associations. Furthermore, the label on the neck of the bottle says "Super Wet", referencing Asahi's Super Dry beer and, as it is common in GTA, also functioning as a double entendre referring to a wet vagina.

The beer pump labels include the characters 生 ("nama"), literally meaning "raw", and 辛口 ("kara-kuchi") meaning "dry taste", another reference to Asahi Super Dry beer.

A building located on the Vespucci Beach Sidewalk Market sports a blue front with the A.M. Beer logo and an English slogan, covered by market banners, which reads "Karakuchi (Wet) Beer Brewed in Japan".[1]
